Description Alexandru Toma 2004-04-02 08:28:43 UTC
It seems to me that the DIR_COLORS file from baselayout could easily include more extensions.

Another improvement would be to add an "audio file types" category coloured differently

Reproducible: Always
Steps to Reproduce:
1.
2.

Improved DIR_COLORS

I have only added "archive" and "images/video" file types... An audio category
could also be added.

Also, about the .gl and .dl files that were present in the original DIR_COLORS.... I have found .gl here (haven't heard about it thogh, so I'm not sure how popular it is): http://www.wotsit.org/search.asp?page=2&s=animated

I haven't been able to find .dl anywhere. I'm not even sure if it is an image/video file.

actually, the next coreutils will provide the DIR_COLORS, I'll put an ebuild into portage for it shortly

added most of your stuff to cvs with 5.2.0-r2

thanks :)

I understand why you didn't include 7z (I forgot they don't have a linux program yet), but why did you also ommit zoo. I know it's old and probably not used much but you even have the program in your portage tree: app-arch/zoo.
Comment 6 SpanKY gentoo-dev 2004-05-15 21:55:40 UTC
i dont even know what .7z or .zoo are for :P

i just trimmed the ones i didnt really recognize, i'll add .zoo in cause i dont really care either way

I think there's no need for a new bug so I'm just reopening this one...

Please add .7z (app-arch/p7zip) and .rz (app-arch/rzip) to the archives section of DIR_COLORS
