When I emerge mod_php it complains about some header having different version than it expects.

Reproducible: Always
Steps to Reproduce:
1.emerge mod_php
2.
3.

Actual Results:  
checking for db4 major version... configure: error: Header contains different 
version

re-merge your sys-libs/db-4.0* and sys-libs/db-4.1*

ok, so it was an inconsistantcy in your system.
