This patch is for kernel 2.6. It patches /usr/src/linux/include/linux/compat_ioctl.h to allow networking to work correctly in VMware. See the reference URL for an explaination of why this works.

Reproducible: Always
Steps to Reproduce:
1. Patch kernel
2. Rebuild kernel
3. Reboot
4. emerge vmware-workstation
5. /opt/vmware/bin/vmware-config.pl
6. vmware


Expected Results:  
vmware networking support works again!

FYI: I've tested this patch with gentoo-dev-sources-2.6.4-r1.
