I have seen the problem before e.g. Bug #12185 What happens is my system hangs on boot option 'gentoo' because it cannot access my cd-rom as I have SCSI components only. If I load 'gentoo doscsi' the system hangs detects my SCSI controller with aic7xxx.o module and hangs on aic7xxx.old.o When I boot with 'gentoo' option I can load the module aic7xxx.o but than I do not know how to go on. Is there any fix to bypass the aic7xxx.old module or to exclude it from the live cd? Thank you Jonas Reproducible: Always Steps to Reproduce: 1. boot with live cd 2. boot option gentoo doscsi 3. wait Actual Results: System hangs on loading aic7xxx.old Expected Results: Continue to boot my machine or time out. That module is known to be problematic. It is and will remain off current and future live-cd's
