Hi, Our mirror server, ftp.heanet.ie, is getting out of date with gentoo source. As per instructions, we mirror via rsync from ftp.ibiblio.org, but each job ends with an rsync error. This has prevented us transferring a number of ISO files for over a month, and probably other files too. Usually, some files get transferred during each sync, before the connection breaks. The log message we have is: receiving file list ... done rsync: error writing 4092 unbuffered bytes - exiting: Connection reset by peer rsync error: error in rsync protocol data stream (code 12) at io.c(463) rsync error: received SIGUSR1 or SIGINT (code 20) at main.c(784) Reproducible: Always Steps to Reproduce: 1. I run rsync ftp.ibiblio.org::gentoo/ /ftp/mirrors/gentoo.org/ 2. 3. Actual Results: Welcome to the ibiblio rsync server! If you have problems or questions, feel free to mail help@ibiblio.org. If you will, please subscribe to our mirror announcement list: http://lists.ibiblio.org/mailman/listinfo/ibiblio-mirrors We offer these particular rsync modules simply because users have asked for them. If you would like another archive offered as an rsync module, please ask help@ibiblio.org. Thanks! receiving file list ... done rsync: error writing 4092 unbuffered bytes - exiting: Connection reset by peer rsync error: error in rsync protocol data stream (code 12) at io.c(463) rsync error: received SIGUSR1 or SIGINT (code 20) at main.c(784) Expected Results: Should have listed files transferred The server performing the sync has the following IP details: IPv4: 193.1.219.88 IPv6: 2001:770:18:2:206:5bff:fe8c:3f37 It is connected via gigabit ethernet to our national backbone, which routes to the ibiblio server via the Abilene network.
We have two private mirrors that you may use since you are a public mirror. I will send you the details via email to brian.boyle@heanet.ie --kurt
