I cannot reproduce this using my mirror. What mirror did you use to sync? I normally use au.gentoo.org. then switched gentoo.org/gentoo-portage. But all I got there was an attempt to check my timeline(probably too soon to get a sync). I tried again @12:19 today sat 13th and got a run out of addresses msg on gentoo.org, reset my make.conf back to my local mirror and got the same msg. this's on my amd64. Have not tried with the x86 machine as this unit is still updating,& I have all the files.
Apologies are in order I think, it turns out the cmos batt had gone flat in the machine I was having hassles with. Which I was alerted to when my hdd's changed position, once corrected all worked as it should, again many thank's for actually looking. Geoff
