IMHO rust is an interesting and increasingly useful project that belongs in the main portage tree, not in an overalay. And I would be willing to add it to the main tree if two QA warts were fixed: 1. fixing insecure rpaths (see https://github.com/mozilla/rust/issues/5219); and 2. respecting Gentoo's filesystem layout (e.g. using /usr/lib64, not /usr/lib, for 64-bit libraries).
Thank you for this bugs, I will try to look if I can do something there but I will be glad if this overlay will be added. Also I will be glad if my 2 other issues in this section will be at least reviewed. This overlay reason: I can't anyhow maintain, change something or fix bugs add additional packages in portage tree until I have no developer status, I can't trust if I can do anything by using bugs.gentoo.org because I can point some really old bugs, dead herds and b.g.o reaction speed is not that good mostly. In another time I will be glad if someone will add it and will MAINTAIN it in official tree then maybe I will open another bug to remove this overlay but it will be another issue without realation to this issue...
Added to layman.
