USE=static will be sorted out in a diff bug. i already did the 2.3.2 update a while ago, but didn't commit it as i was running it locally. nano has had a history of late of being crashy, so i run it myself first before committing it. case in point ... svn had a fun crash bug for a while that was reverted just so this release could go out ;).
