Description Harris Landgarten 2013-03-31 23:07:15 UTC
I run a windows-xp vm using vmware-workstation on a 4 monitor workspace in full screen multi-monitor mode for the vm.

under gnome-3.6 I could change workspaces by moving the mouse to the upper left corner of either the primary monitor on the right most monitor.

I could also see the top panel of gnome on the primary monitor with the windows vm below it on that monitor only.

under gnome-3.8 all monitors take the entire display and there are no hot overview corners.

The only way I have found to change workspaces is by using the Super-PageUp and Super-PageDown hot keys which will only work if the keyboard is first escaped using ctrl-alt.

@gnome: maybe you have some idea?
Comment 2 Harris Landgarten 2013-06-23 13:13:55 UTC
fortunately keyboard shortcuts still work.

alt-crtl takes focus away from wmware-workstation vms in full screen.

and super-pageup and super-pagedwn change workspaces.

You can also just press super to get an overview screen.

Just remember to hit alt-crtl first to get the focus away from the VM.

Is this still a problem with current gnome (assuming you still run WS 9)?

Closing this. We're still keeping 9 around, but it's even masked for security now- so as unsupported as possible.
