We need to have USE=static-libs because this package install '.a' files:

/usr/lib64/libxdiff.so.0.0.0
/usr/lib64/libxdiff.la
/usr/lib64/libxdiff.so.0
/usr/lib64/libxdiff.so
/usr/lib64/libxdiff.a

I do not see a reason to have static libs supported. I would prefer to it disabled altogether

Revbump with --disable-static and removal of .la file in CVS
