Comment 2 Jason Huebel (RETIRED) gentoo-dev 2004-03-31 10:57:22 UTC
i2c-2.7.0 is a very old (relatively speaking) version. emerge i2c-2.8.4 for proper lm-sensors support on amd64.
Comment 3 Jason Huebel (RETIRED) gentoo-dev 2004-03-31 11:02:08 UTC
Actually, the i2c ebuild isn't required on amd64 anyway, since it's included in the 2.6.x kernel.
Comment 4 Jason Huebel (RETIRED) gentoo-dev 2004-03-31 11:05:33 UTC
Make sure you merge lm-sensors-2.8.5 (its masked). It's required for amd64.
Comment 5 Michael Labhard 2004-03-31 12:02:47 UTC
May I suggest that the ebuild be corrected to account for all dependencies and which is best for amd64 and when that has been updated I would be delighted to test it? Currently amd64 systems are getting 2.7 as unmasked.
Comment 6 Travis Tilley (RETIRED) gentoo-dev 2004-03-31 12:31:58 UTC
plasmaroo - your nick is listed in the mask for lm-sensors. On amd64 the only suggested kernel is gentoo-dev-sources, a 2.6 kernel, and your mask prevents the only working version of lm-sensors from installing. can this be removed and masked in a better (arch dependant) way?
Comment 7 Tim Yamin (RETIRED) gentoo-dev 2004-03-31 12:49:20 UTC
Done; I've removed it from package.mask so it's now an unmasked "~amd64" for your architecture. Thanks!
