I had ugly, fully opaque, aliased boxes without shadow. The patch from the review fixed the issues (applied clean on kwin-4.10.1)

Could we get that backported to 4.10.1/4.10.2? The diff applies fine on 4.10.1 (so it should on 4.10.2 - not tested). kwin compiles and runs fine.

Thanks for reporting. The fixed upstream version is available in tree.
