When upgrading to from kernel 2.6.39 to 3.7.10 I get the following ACPI error:

[ 5.487051] systemd-udevd[1109]: starting version 197
[ 1.676734] ACPI: Invalid Power Resource to register!
[ 5.778759] ACPI Warning:

[ 5.778767] ACPI: If an ACPI driver is available for this device, you should use it instead of the native driver
Comment 1 Mike Pagano gentoo-dev 2013-04-02 22:01:35 UTC
Is there an issue? I believe this just is a warning.
Comment 2 darin hensley 2013-04-03 00:08:22 UTC
Yes, a small memory address/space is shared when using ATI SB chipset SMBus drivers and ACPI together. I had to disable SMBus native driver.
Comment 3 Tom Wijsman (TomWij) (RETIRED) gentoo-dev 2013-04-09 15:56:55 UTC
Yeah, this is just a warning for the user to pick one or the other, it shouldn't be of a big issue; especially not when this is the SMBus.
