Could you run `python-updater -eall`? Does it try to recompile packages? What is your system python `eselect python list`? What version of dev-python/setuptools do you have? I assume 0.6.30-r1? If I'm correct try upgrading it to 0.6.33 and try again.
Available Python interpreters: [1] python2.7 * [2] python3.2 I'm launching the python-updater now... ----- dummys@gaia ~ $ eix dev-python/setuptools [I] dev-python/setuptools 0.6.30-r1
Ok I've done all the action without success. Same error... In fact i've done : - python-updater -eall // all is up to date - upgrading successfully to setuptools 0.6.33 - emerge -auDNv world * ERROR: app-admin/eselect-1.3.4 failed (compile phase): * emake failed * * If you need support, post the output of `emerge --info '=app-admin/eselect-1.3.4'`, * the complete build log and the output of `emerge -pqv '=app-admin/eselect-1.3.4'`. * The complete build log is located at '/var/tmp/portage/app-admin/eselect-1.3.4/temp/build.log'. * The ebuild environment file is located at '/var/tmp/portage/app-admin/eselect-1.3.4/temp/environment'. * Working directory: '/var/tmp/portage/app-admin/eselect-1.3.4/work/eselect-1.3.4' * S: '/var/tmp/portage/app-admin/eselect-1.3.4/work/eselect-1.3.4' >>> Failed to emerge app-admin/eselect-1.3.4, Log file: >>> '/var/tmp/portage/app-admin/eselect-1.3.4/temp/build.log' * Messages for package app-admin/eselect-1.3.4: * ERROR: app-admin/eselect-1.3.4 failed (compile phase): * emake failed * * If you need support, post the output of `emerge --info '=app-admin/eselect-1.3.4'`, * the complete build log and the output of `emerge -pqv '=app-admin/eselect-1.3.4'`. * The complete build log is located at '/var/tmp/portage/app-admin/eselect-1.3.4/temp/build.log'. * The ebuild environment file is located at '/var/tmp/portage/app-admin/eselect-1.3.4/temp/environment'. * Working directory: '/var/tmp/portage/app-admin/eselect-1.3.4/work/eselect-1.3.4' * S: '/var/tmp/portage/app-admin/eselect-1.3.4/work/eselect-1.3.4'
You may try updating or remerging dev-python/docutils.
Hmm perhaps there is a problem between setuptools-0.6.33 and eselect, as I seen on the error, python install of eselect is asking for 0.6.30: pkg_resources.DistributionNotFound: distribute==0.6.30
re-emerging dev-python/docutils same problem...
Can you invoke rst2html.py manually? (Just try "rst2html.py /dev/null", it should output some html code to stdout.)
gaia python2.7 # rst2html.py /dev/null Processing null error: Couldn't find a setup script in /dev/null
Not a bug in eselect (it's just using rst2html.py for building its HTML documentation). Reassigning to python team.
Yes seems to, when trying to cd in /var/tmp/portage/app-admin/eselect-1.3.4/work/eselect-1.3.4 and then : gaia eselect-1.3.4 # /usr/bin/rst2html.py < TODO > TODO.html error: No urls, filenames, or requirements specified (see --help) So yes it's definitively a problem of rst2html.py Because if I: gaia eselect-1.3.4 # cat TODO.html gaia eselect-1.3.4 # There is no HTML outputed...
Also checked my version of docutils, it's 0.10 (latest)
Trying to downgrade to 0.9 version docutils, not working...
Hi, no news on my Issue ??
(In reply to comment #13) > Hi, no news on my Issue ?? I can't reproduce the problem. You seem to be the only user having this issue so far. If you are able to diagnose the problem and point us at a specific bug, we can look into fixing it; otherwise, I have to assume this is some quirk in your system. I recommend disabling USE=doc as a workaround.
Hmm no I point to the bug, look my other comment. I try to launch standalone the rst2html.py script and is not working on any files... Here is the source code of rst2html.py: #!/usr/bin/python2.7 # EASY-INSTALL-ENTRY-SCRIPT: 'distribute==0.6.35','console_scripts','easy_install' __requires__ = 'distribute==0.6.35' import sys from pkg_resources import load_entry_point if __name__ == '__main__': sys.exit( load_entry_point('distribute==0.6.35', 'console_scripts', 'easy_install')() ) ~ ~
rst2html.py is a link to python-exec
That doesn't look like the right code at all. Try re-installing python-exec.
ohhhhhhhhhhhhh yeahhhh issue resolved after remerging python-exec. Thanks a lot. Regards, John
