Description Uwe Kramer 2004-03-30 00:44:09 UTC
I am using Gentoo-2004.0 for amd64 and KDE-3.2.1 with OpenOffice-1.1.0-bin.
I cannot cut+paste from any app to openoffice.
I can c'n'p from any app to any app, within openoffice and from openoffice to any app. I also tried installing "normal" openoffice from the web and I had the same problem.
I installed Gentoo on a P4-Laptop, emerged OpenOffice-1.1.0-r2 and tried c+p - success. Then I unmerged it and emerged OpenOffice-bin-1.1.0 and tried again - success.

Reproducible: Always
Steps to Reproduce:
1.mark text in a non-OpenOffice application
2.paste it in OpenOffice
3.

Actual Results:
nothing

Expected Results:
paste the marked text into OpenOffice

Looks like the issue is cutting from a KDE app and pasting into OpenOffice.
Comment 2 Jason Huebel (RETIRED) gentoo-dev 2004-03-30 07:47:45 UTC
I can copy from OOo and paste into KEdit, but I can't copy from KEdit and paste into OOo. I can copy from Mozilla 1.6 and paste into OpenOffice. So this doesn't appear to be an OOo problem. Looks like a KDE clipboard issue.
Comment 3 Travis Tilley (RETIRED) gentoo-dev 2004-04-10 23:37:52 UTC
can the kde herd comment on this? is this really an OO bug, in which case it might also be an amd64 bug (since we run openoffice-bin using the emul libs)? or is this a general kde clipboard bug, in which case this bug is probably a good candidate for cantfix?
Comment 4 Uwe Kramer 2004-04-16 16:26:23 UTC
The problem seems really only be in KDE, I installed koffice-1.3 and couldn't cut + paste from konqueror to koffice.
Comment 5 Uwe Kramer 2004-05-13 08:50:14 UTC
I emerged today openoffice-bin-1.1.1 and it works now, so i think the bug is solved.
