Description Evan Borgstrom 2004-03-29 10:04:14 UTC
We have moved the rsync cron job from our two load balanced front end servers to our central disk server. Can you please add the IP 209.47.158.132 to the ACL to allow us to sync off the main server.

Thanks,
Evan

The .132 IP has been added. Will you still be needing the .135 IP in the ACL? As I will remove it if you will no longer be needing access from that IP. Thanks!

No the .135 IP isn't needed in the ACL anymore, however I'm still getting access denied when trying to rsync from rsync1.us.gentoo.org.

I need to know the exact IP you will be synching from to rsync1.us.gentoo.org. That is the one that will be in the ACL. Thanks

209.47.158.132 is the public IP, however it's being NAT'd from behind a firewall, does rsync report the local interface!? If so it's 7.47.158.132
Comment 5 Jeffrey Forman (RETIRED) gentoo-dev 2004-04-08 11:55:59 UTC
I added the .132 IP into the ACL. All should be fine, apologies about the confusion.

Jeffrey

Still no luck...

You need to wait about 1 hour and then try and resync, so that the new ACL file copies over.

I am not seeing timestamps from this machine showing that it is indeed synching. Please inform me if you are still indeed intresting in being an rsync mirror. Thanks!

Jeffrey

Yep we're still interested and I have an explanation for you...

It looks like we're still being denied to rsync1.us.gentoo.org...
I'll have it start syncing off of rsync.us.gentoo.org again until you get the ACL updated so that 209.47.158.132 is allowed.
Comment 10 Jeffrey Forman (RETIRED) gentoo-dev 2004-04-15 12:08:16 UTC
Evan,

I apologize for the miscommunication. I saw the access denied on the logs on rsync1.us. I have corrected it and added the .132 IP. You should be able to sync within about 1 hour of the timestamp of this bug comment.

Thanks!
Jeffrey
