The genkernel init scripts are missing some key functionality that sets up keymap for use in ${NEWROOT}. The files defaults/init.scripts and default/linuxrc are the ones in question. Currently booting with 'dokeymap' which is the default and setting a keymap at the prompt works while in early user space but the user selection is not propagated to the ${NEWROOT} environment at /etc/sysconfig/keyboard which is the file that livecd-tools should parse to setup the user defined keymap in console. Reproducible: Always Steps to Reproduce: 1. boot live{cd,dvd} 2. set a keymap 3. check for existence of /etc/sysconfig/keyboard Actual Results: missing /etc/sysconfig/keyboard and no entry in /etc/conf.d/keymaps that point to the user defined keymap during boot.
Thanks for the report. I am CCing lxnay on this because it likely will interest him.
this is a problem with 'aufs' in kernel as once you don't use that dokeymap works. I suspect this is a race condition.
This issue is fixed with latest livedvd which should be released in the coming week.
