[Note: 'version' did not allow one to select anything newer than 2008.0_beta2] Keymap selection is not being honored in the LiveDVD–problem is reproducible every time. Even when passing it as a boot option it still reverts to the U.S layout. What is curious though is that it actually is displaying 'Setting keymap to <whatever>' when it boots, but it has no effect. I am testing with a Norwegian keymap btw. (27/NO) Tested on a virtual terminal and on X (which I supposed _should_ inherit whatever the keymap initially was set to) It is a pretty nifty live-DVD; so it is unfortunate that such basic functionality isn't working. When manually editing /etc/conf.d/keymap and restarting this works as intended, but obviously the way the liveDVD is made one loses the (pre-filled-out) login details in kdm (or is it SliM?) when the X server is restarted.
Are anyone reading these bug reports? This issue in particular should be a trivial thing to fix.

I can confirm this. I'm using LiveDVD-20121221. When keymaps is started, it switches back to us-layout. Before that typing into the messages indicate a correctly set keymap.
This is fixed in latest release.
