Use flags were:

media-sound/sox-14.3.2-r1  USE="alsa amr encode ffmpeg flac id3tag ladspa mad ogg openmp png sndfile -ao -debug -oss -pulseaudio -static-libs -wavpack"

this is fixed in 14.4.1... why are you using ~arch ffmpeg if you do not even try to use ~arch packages when you see such a failure?

arches: please mark 14.4.1 stable (14.4.0 should be the stable candidate but since .1 is a bugfix release, better have this one)
