I think this one actually requires [video] not [X] :). Also check if other flags like audio are not needed.
I'll gonna test it and report back - will take some time.
Needs video and opengl so I added those. Reopen if you find it needs X.
Sorry for reopening, but [opengl,video] doesn't seem to be enough. Below all combination's i've testet today. For me libsdl has to be build with "X" support: default: libsdl[alsa,joystick,opengl,sound,video,xinerama] -> don't work various combinations: libsdl[opengl,video] -> don't work libsdl[X] -> don't work libsdl[X,opengl] -> don't work libsdl[X,video] -> don't work libsdl[X,opengl,video] -> works for audio, sound & alsa flags are also needed libsdl[X,video,opengl,sound] -> works (no audio) libsdl[X,video,opengl,alsa] -> works (no audio) libsdl[X,video,opengl,alsa,sound] -> works (with audio) I suggest adding media-libs/libs[X,video,opengl,alsa,sound] as dependency!
Shouldn't video come with REQUIRED_USE telling you to enable one of the drivers?
great, thanks for testing. I added the X use dep. The rest is optional so we don't force people to turn them on. In fact, probably X is probably is even too far but I'll force it for now until someone with really bizarre video taste complains.
