Description James Kyle 2004-03-27 14:07:51 UTC
I can't emerge anything! Gentoo is broken!! (jking)

Kprinter does not appear to be aware of a postscript translater. I can view pdf and ps files through kghostview however. See "Steps to reproduce."

I assume there is some environment variable that is not appropriately set, but no one on #kde knows.

Reproducible: Always
Steps to Reproduce:
1. Opne kprinter
2. Select pdf file
3. print......
   a. kde says it must convert format into ps
   b. click ok, application/postscript appears as option,
      following error:
"No appropriate filter found. Select another target format."

I'm sorry, midterms hit and I didn't follow through.

RESOLVED:

Certain filters in kprinter interfere with the ghostscript filter (can't remember which one...I think enscript).

I resolved it by clearing all settings, than adding the filters one by one till I found the offender.
