Description Dave 2004-03-27 11:42:40 UTC
I get the following error message during start up immediately after my stage1 install:

can't create lock file /etc/mtab~68: Read-only file system (use -n flag to override)

The file permissions of /etc/mtab ar -rw-r--r-- and it's root/root

I don't see this bug being related to the livecd - reassigning
Comment 4 SpanKY gentoo-dev 2004-10-03 03:07:22 UTC
harmless; can be ignored

do you see this once or with every reboot ?

when do you see this ? (what is the message before and after)
Comment 5 SpanKY gentoo-dev 2004-10-09 22:26:13 UTC
need to know where you see this during boot up

post the last message you see before the error appears and the first message that appears after the error

Moving these so we can remove the "Install CD" component from "Gentoo Linux".

I apologize to everyone for this spam, but according to the bugzilla developers,
this is the only reasonable way to do this.
