The macro used for detecting portaudio is a bit lacking.

See aclocal.m4 (yes, upstream uses this file for storage and the macro itself is a bit lacking).

Perhaps you don't have /usr/lib symlink ?

Though with prefix in mind, the options indicated by the output should probably be used.

Yep, lack of /usr/lib symlink would be it.

Thanks for reporting and looking into it to both of you. I fear it will have to wait till next weekend. I am just going on vacation. Feel free to fix it if you like.

I think I fixed it. The aclocal macros is really nasty. So I did go with the
--with-portaudio-lib-dir switch to configure.

As I have no system without a /usr/lib link to /usr/lib64 please test thorougly and reopen if needed.

Thanks, it find portaudio fine now.

However, I've got bad news for you. As I suspected, the w.so Python extension is built only once while it should be built separately for each Python version.

But don't worry -- for some reason, the ebuild does not install that file at all. So no users will notice that since wspr simply does not work :). I will try to provide a fixed ebuild in next few hours.

Well that is true. It build only once but got installed as needed.

No. It installed correctly here. I wonder how your build system looks like. Anyway thanks for the help.
