According to this thread in the gentoo forums the rsync mirror 202.182.69.69 = rsync4.au.gentoo.org isn't available for about a month. i ran traceroute and it ends at mel-colo1.labyrinth.net.au. please take a look at this.

The mirror is unaccesible to me, it will be removed from rotation. Thanks for the heads up!
