Description Ilya Gordeev 2013-02-19 12:25:38 UTC
WARN: postrm
Unable to establish /usr/lib64/python2.7/site-packages/pygtk.py symlink
Unable to establish /usr/lib64/python2.7/site-packages/pygtk.pth symlink

Reproducible: Always

Can you translate in plain Enlgish please?

The *Gentoo* ebuild does not have pkg_postrm() like other distros' ebuilds (funtoo, etc...?).

If this is an overlay ebuild issue you might want to prepend that overlay's name to the bug's title.

Just to clearify, dev-python/pygtk-2.24.0-r3 does not have pkg_postrm() so, are you talking about the stable -r2 here?

I hit the same thing here:

 * Messages for package dev-python/pygtk-2.24.0-r2:

 * Unable to establish /usr/lib64/python2.7/site-packages/pygtk.py symlink
 * Unable to establish /usr/lib64/python2.7/site-packages/pygtk.pth symlink

I also got this message from dev-python/pygtk-2.24.0-r2 (upgrading from 2.24.0-r2).

In the same emerge session dev-python/pygobject-2.28.6-r53 (upgrading from 2.28.6-r52) gave the exact same message (pygobject was before pygtk in the merge order).

Google found this old forum thread, don't know if it's relevant:
http://forums.gentoo.org/viewtopic-t-575963.html

I'm on a stable amd64 system, ask if you want more info.

Please test with -r4 and provide a full build.log if still failing
Comment 6 Alexandre Rostovtsev (RETIRED) gentoo-dev 2013-10-02 23:37:47 UTC
This message is coming from pygtk-2.24.0-r2 (the old ebuild which is being replaced). 2.24.0-r2 version was removed from portage, and you may safely ignore the warning message.
