Description Alexander Peshkov 2013-02-19 09:03:41 UTC
Compilation of the package completes successfully. At install phase I get an error:
mv: cannot stat '/var/tmp/portage/sys-process/psmisc-22.20/image//usr/bin/fuser': No such file or directory
 * ERROR: sys-process/psmisc-22.20 failed (install phase):

 * environment, line 2054: Called die
 * The specific snippet of code:
 * mv "${ED}"/usr/bin/fuser "${ED}"/bin || diemv: cannot stat '/var/tmp/portage/sys-process/psmisc-22.20/image//usr/bin/fuser': No such file or directory

There is really no such file in that directory:
# ls -1 /var/tmp/portage/sys-process/psmisc-22.20/image//usr/bin/
pstree.x11
x86_64-pc-linux-gnu-fuser
x86_64-pc-linux-gnu-killall
x86_64-pc-linux-gnu-peekfd
x86_64-pc-linux-gnu-prtstat
x86_64-pc-linux-gnu-pstree

But instead there is x86_64-pc-linux-gnu-fuser.

Reproducible: Always

Steps to Reproduce:
1. Updated packages repository: emerge --sync
2. According to recommendation in 'eselect news' updated portage (emerge -j3 --update portage) and changed make profile to 13.0
3. Started full update: emerge -j3 --update system world
Actual Results:
Failure when building sys-process/psmisc-22.20

Expected Results:
Successfull update

Comment 2 Jeroen Roovers (RETIRED) gentoo-dev 2013-02-19 15:31:05 UTC
This happens when CTARGET is non-empty, apparently.
Comment 3 Samuli Suominen (RETIRED) gentoo-dev 2013-02-20 10:20:56 UTC
I've added * to the mv command so it doesn't fail at install anymore.

However do we really want the binaries and manpages installed as ${CTARGET}-$binaryname, like x86_64-pc-linux-gnu-fuser?
If I just add `unset CTARGET` before econf, would that cause problems for cross-compiling or something?
Comment 4 Diego Elio Pettenò (RETIRED) gentoo-dev 2013-02-20 13:27:48 UTC
Just apply Mike's patch.

Nevermind. I see the URL field now.

The related patch has been merged into 22.21.
