Hi, 1) Can you please add sys-boot/syslinux-5.01 to the tree? See the change log <http://www.syslinux.org/archives/2013-January/019347.html>, they fixed two important bugs, which makes sys-boot/syslinux-5.00 unusable with Gentoo: * ldlinux: Fix multiple buffer overflows in cmdline parsing code that resulted in files failing to run and cmdlines being truncated. => Genkernel's generated names for initrd and kernel are affected by this bug. Result: Systems are trying to boot without initrd and will fail. * EXTLINUX: Fix installation and subdirectory patching. => Documentation said, that you can install extlinux into /boot/extlinux for example. But there was a bug in syslinux-5.00 which prevent paths != /boot/syslinux With sys-boot/syslinux-5.01 all my Gentoo-based systems are working fine now. 2) Please remove/hardmask sys-boot/syslinux-5.00 due to the mentioned bugs. Reproducible: Always I set severity to blocker, because sys-boot/syslinux-5.00 is unusable with Gentoo Linux (Genkernel... installation in /boot/extlinux...). If that is wrong, please correct.

I have used sys-boot/syslinux-5.00 in combination with sys-boot/unetbootin for some time and it has always worked for me. Also, there are no bugs about such issues here, so I'll put it back to 'normal' importance.
Fixed in CVS.
