michael meeks (the ximiam oo master) confirmed me that linc was pushed in the trash for as much projects as possible since the gnome 2.2 to 2.4 transition looking at gnomemeeting source, latest versions do not need linc anymore oh, as a side note, gnomemeeting 1.0.1 is out Reproducible: Always Steps to Reproduce: 1. 2. 3.
i asked Damien Sandras since when linc was no more a dependency. his answer was short : it has never been a direct dep. > Linc was never used in gnomemeeting, that must have been an indirect > dependancy. Linc is used by bonobo, gnomemeeting is using bonobo, > however I guess that having such a dependancy was never correct...
and while fixing the ebuilds, could you please change the description too, as gnome meeting is far more than "gnome netmeeting client". Damien suggests that : "GnomeMeeting is an H.323 compatible videoconferencing and VoIP/IP telephony application that allows you to make audio and video calls to remote users with H.323 hardware or software (such as Microsoft Netmeeting). It supports all modern videoconferencing features, such as registering to an ILS directory, gatekeeper support, making multi-user conference calls using an external MCU, using modern Quicknet telephony cards, and making PC-to-phone calls." but if you feel it's too long, shorten it
- oh, as a side note, gnomemeeting 1.0.1 is out + oh, as a side note, gnomemeeting 1.0.2 is out
why the heck did noone who touched this pack ever pick this one up, there is no reason to have these bugs linger this long :/ And obviously noone ever checked the deps in all that time @ reporter : removed linc dep, added the description to the metadata, sorry it took so long. CC-ing stkn as current maintainer : could you please check next time the linc dep is indeed not needed (i believe it is just by knowing linc)
