Description Nitzan Zaifman 2004-03-25 20:32:56 UTC
bug http://bugs.gentoo.org/show_bug.cgi?id=29773 mark as resolved though it does not look like that, more like abandoned...

tried with 1.5, 1.41 and with my normal aggressive CFLAGS as well as reduced ones gradually until nothing, compiles fine every time though nothing works.
also tries the revdep-rebuild suggested there to no avail.

google was no my friend, nor were the forums - hence the bug report.

Reproducible: Always
Steps to Reproduce:
1. emerge hpijs
2. hpijs
3. nothing happens
4. press ENTER

Actual Results:
unable to init hpijs server
Segmentation fault

Expected Results:
hpijs server
Comment 1 Nitzan Zaifman 2004-03-26 15:34:59 UTC
resolved.

it still does seg fault when initializing as described but it started working:

for some reason compiling it with "ppds" flag made it work (after choosing the correct one of course in cups's config) where both foomatic (3.0.1) and linux-printing's PPDs didn't..., STRANGE.
Comment 2 Heinrich Wendel (RETIRED) gentoo-dev 2004-04-08 03:39:26 UTC
so the problem was a wrong ppd file i think
