Description Andrej Kacian (RETIRED) gentoo-dev 2004-03-25 16:30:21 UTC
Jabberoo is an object-oriented, cross-platform C++ library which provides handling logic for the Jabber protocol.

Jabberoo uses (hence, requires) libsigc++ to provide typesafe event notification. You will need to get and install libsigc++ before you can build jabberoo.

Currently, Jabberoo is intended to be compiled directly into the applications which use it, so it only builds as a static library.

See attached ebuild.

I suggest classification net-im/jabberoo

bug-wranglers, please reassign this to someone interested in jabber, since i hardly use it.
Comment 3 Gustavo Felisberto (RETIRED) gentoo-dev 2004-03-28 10:47:54 UTC
When running the configure with --help:
 --enable-shared[=PKGS]
                          build shared libraries [default=yes]
  --enable-static[=PKGS]
                          build static libraries [default=yes]

Does this affect the way te other ebuilds that you have submitted will work?
Comment 4 Andrej Kacian (RETIRED) gentoo-dev 2004-03-28 12:05:54 UTC
So far, the only ebuild dependent on jabberoo is gabber, and after recent testing, those flags do not affect resulting binary.

Andrej: Thanks for this, it is in portage (in fact even 1.9.4 is there now).
