Description Ric de France 2004-03-24 23:14:19 UTC
The home page for quickrip has changed. It is listed on the packages page as:

http://www.tomchance.uklinux.net/projects/quickrip.shtml

That leads to a 404. It appears to have moved to:

http://quickrip.sourceforge.net/

Reproducible: Always
Steps to Reproduce:
1. Open browser.
2. Put "http://packages.gentoo.org/search/?sstring=quickrip" into URL box. Press enter.
3. Click on "home" icon under the quickrip application matrix.

Actual Results:
A 404 occured.

Expected Results:
The link should have gone to the correct home page.

Was already changed for .7 and .8 (which are already quite old, maybe they should go stable). Thanks for the hint.

The "home icon" button on the following pages still point to the old web page (thus resulting in a 404):

http://packages.gentoo.org/packages/?category=media-video;name=quickrip
http://packages.gentoo.org/ebuilds/?quickrip-0.8
http://packages.gentoo.org/ebuilds/?quickrip-0.7

How does one go about updating the links on the packages.gentoo.org site?

Looks like packages.g.o does not get the homepage from the latest ebuild, but from something else (first in directory? don't know). Will just remove the .4 and .5 versions from portage since nothing depends on them. Thanks for the hint.

Re-opening.
Comment 5 Albert Hopkins (RETIRED) gentoo-dev 2004-05-24 08:27:16 UTC
This is because for efficiency the database is only updated on revision bumps and if the KEYWORDS changes for an ebuild. Because none of these events occurred it will not update the db, and, thus, the homepage. However, I forced it.
