Description Andreas Kotowicz 2002-07-05 03:08:31 UTC
Please find attached mindi.tar.gz containing mindi-0.63.ebuild.

Mindi builds boot/root disk images using your
existing kernel, modules, tools and libraries. So
long as your kernel is smaller than about
1.2MB, Mindi should be able to build a boot/root
disk set from almost any Linux distribution you
might be running. Even if the kernel is bigger
than that, Mindi can still generate a bootable
CD image for you.
Mindi is needed by Mondo (a reliable backup tool).
I hope I can contribute the Mondo ebuild soon

I suggest sys-apps.

inserted more dependencies

I adopted now all dependencies from the rpm packages. in my eyes this is not
needed, because mondo will look for the same packages aswell - but just to be
correct :)

this fixes the known system stripping bug

after mindi install cd /usr/share/mindi; patch -p0 < mindi.patch
this will prevent your system to be stripped

this incorporates the mindi patch

put mindi patch (previously submitted) into mindi/files dir and rename it from
"mindi.patch" to "mindi-0.65.patch".
emerge mindi and the patch will be applied automatically (this is really
userfriendly :)
thanks for the hint mark - i've totally forgotten that this is possible

mindi-0.65-r1.ebuild

mindi-0.65.patch - official patch

please use this official patch released by hugo rabson. the patch submitted
previously works aswell but was more a quick-and-dirty workaround by me.
Comment 12 Brandon Low (RETIRED) gentoo-dev 2002-07-18 20:29:34 UTC
1) Author field in ebuilds is deprecated, you will be credited in the changelog
2) Please use the portage application "repoman" to check this ebuild, you are
missing several important fields (LICENSE, SLOT, KEYWORDS that I see at a
glance) once it passes repoman, please feel free to re-attache a new copy and
I'll be happy to incorporate, at that time, please re-open this bug.
Comment 13 Andreas Kotowicz 2002-07-19 03:04:36 UTC
well, repoman works just on cvs tree but as I don't have cvs access, I can't use
it :)
I used lintool instead and changed my ebuilds until it didn't report any errors
anymore.
