emerge of mythtv fails with libavcodec/rv34.c:1791:1: internal compiler error: Segmentation fault I'll attach a section of the build log showing the occurrence of the segfault and the preceding steps Reproducible: Couldn't Reproduce Steps to Reproduce: emerge still failed but at a different point when I tried to reproduce. . . nb I think my kernel is compiled without firewire support (I don't own any firewire devices so I don't tend to build support for them!) Please attach the entire build log to this bug report.
Apologies I don't think I have the original build log any longer as I've tried emerging mythtv (stupidly without hiving off the build log first) again since and experienced different failures. nb I've added -ieee1394 to my global use flags and then ran an emerge --update --deep --newuse world which failed to complete with the machine ending up unresponsive with a kernel crash dump on the screen appearing to complain about a recursive fault in the sata_nv module. I suspect that sata_nv must be one of the most well used parts of the kernel, and therefore unlikely to be genuinely at fault in this case, am beginning to suspect some hardware fault, especially since this board has previously had a PSU fail and this is the first thing I'm using it for since replacing the PSU!
Well, reopen this bug report when the problem turns up again.
