I don't see why the date of the snapshot should be there (that info is nowhere stored on the disk after installation), after the first

I don't see why the date of the snapshot should be there (that info is nowhere stored on the disk after installation), after the first èmerge sync` it is completely irrelevant.

Sometimes bugs are related to a specific snapshot version/date.

Can you give me an example for such a bug? If at all we should provide the timestamp from the tree which has nothing to do with the snapshot you used, but I still don't think this would be useful.

For example bugs in the snapshot (missing files, wrong ebuilds, ...)
