Along with our rsync of portage (rsync6.ca.gentoo.org) we have now completed our gentoo source mirror which is accessible via http and ftp at gentoo.mirrored.ca Reproducible: Always Steps to Reproduce: 1. 2. 3. I'm not sure how you guys preform consistancy checks on the rsync mirrors, but mirrored.ca had some server problems with one of the two load balanced servers recently which caused some disruptions over the past couple weeks. Those problems have been fixed now and everything has returned to normal.
Thanks for helping out Gentoo. I have added your mirror to our list at http://www.gentoo.org/main/en/mirrors.xml. Please start synching from ftp.oregonstate.edu as the email I have sent to you instructs. We would like to add you to the gentoo-mirrors Mailing List, as we send our notifications of updates, releases, and changes in policy to the mirrors/ Once again, thanks for the hardware and bandwidth! For Infrastructure, Jeffrey
The rsync cron job has been updated to use ftp.oregonstate.edu as instructed, I've moved the site into the load balanced config and everything is up and operating correctly. One final thing is that on the main mirrors.xml page the site is listed as HTTP only while we do offer FTP as well. Also, regarding the rsync mirror (rsync6.ca.mirrored.ca aka rsync.mirrored.ca) we do not seem to be in the rsync.ca.gentoo.org or rsync.gentoo.org rotations. Was something changed or did we get bumped for some reason? Thanks, Evan
You are in the rsync.ca.gentoo.org rotation, as rsync4.ca.gentoo.org, not rsync6.ca.gentoo.org. I was unaware you were in the rsync.gentoo.org rotation, that I will have to check on since we will eventually be moving that rotation in-house under our own administration. I have also updated our mirrors page to reflect you hosting ftp also. Thanks for helping out Gentoo! Sorry for the confusion. For Infrastructure, Jeffrey
