I've been playing with it, it's fine.  Bump xchat to 2.0.8 and mark ~x86.

hmm zul, this is not in the tree as you say, besides that the gnome herd is the primary herd here, so keep that in mind next time.

The new eBuild can`t handle the opntion --with-old-perl of the configure-script. In the eBuild from http://bugs.gentoo.org/show_bug.cgi?id=45521 it is already included

...also the Use-Flag xchatnogtk should be replaced with gtk2.

beyond the scope of this bug. Search, there are bugs concerning the how & why of this change at the time (the changelog is a bit short).
