Description Michael Weber (RETIRED) gentoo-dev 2013-02-05 09:27:49 UTC
Hi,

I'm using funny CFLAGS (see below) which contain several --param <XXX> statements.
These end up in /usr/lib64/pkgconfig/librtlsdr.pc (net-wireless/rtl-sdr-9999).
Caling pkg-config --cflags librtlsdr removes the "duplicate" --params and gcc picks the arguments as missing source files 8-(.

Please don't tell me to use other CFLAGS, I question the "magic"/"f***up" pkg-config does on it's own w/o beeing asked.

Is this a known issue?

# pkg-config --cflags librtlsdr
-march=core2 -mcx16 -msahf --param l1-cache-size=32 l1-cache-line-size=64 l2-cache-size=4096 -mtune=core2 -mfpmath=sse -O2 -pipe -I/usr/include/ -I/usr/include/libusb-1.0

# cat /usr/lib64/pkgconfig/librtlsdr.pc
prefix=/usr
exec_prefix=${prefix}
libdir=/usr/lib64
includedir=${prefix}/include

Comment 2 Samuli Suominen (RETIRED) gentoo-dev 2013-02-05 10:32:04 UTC
Why not report the bug against latest pkgconfig in tree, instead of the 'deprecated' version?
Could be fixed already, or not

It affected my stable work machine, so I reported the problem.
Whats wrong with such an report?

> Could be fixed already, or not
Yes it is, stable the new one (bug 455578) and move on.

Do you want feedback or not?
