What else should I add? :-)
Yes, but Zebra was depreciated by Quagga.
Calculating dependencies emerge: there are no masked or unmasked ebuilds to satisfy "quagga".
emerge -p quagga These are the packages that I would merge, in order: Calculating dependencies ...done! [ebuild R ] sys-apps/quagga-0.96.4-r5 ... ok, just joking... I will hopefully merge quagga this week. Looks like I got a bit of time tomorrow and the day after... Iif you can't wait... check https://gentoo.datacore.ch and go to the section 'DataCore Ebuild'. You will find a working quagga ebuild there.
"Quagga is a fork of GNU Zebra which was developed by Kunihiro Ishiguro. The Quagga tree aims to build a more involved community around Quagga than the current centralised model of GNU Zebra." See the "fork"? I don't think we should just stop supporting the original Zebra only because there's a fork... :-(
So? Why? Zebra is crap. It crashes way to often and has serious security problems. Lot's of needed fixes were not applied, even throuh that the community fixed & posted them to the mailing list. See the problem? Zebra does not really get supported anymore. Most folks moved to Quagga and Kunihiro does not have the time to maintain Zebra further, since he's quite busy with ZebOS. I, for one, will not support Zebra. Feel free to support it by yourself.
