regards. Reproducible: Always
I confirm that downgrading to 4.0.0.1 everything works fine. So please re-insert 4.0.0.1 in portage and mark this version (4.0.0.2) as hard-masked. I'm following the bug on freedesktop too.
I cannot understand if it is a problem of gentoo version or linux one. For now it happens just in gentoo (and perhaps in one ubuntu user). A person with Mac OsX hasn't the problem.
Importance fields are mostly for the maintainer to set. On the other bug URL we can find this: > Newest findings: it's a localization problem > > Open file using LibreOffice 4.0.0.2 rc2 Dutch UI -> ERR:508 > Open file using LibreOffice 4.0.0.2 rc2 English (USA) UI -> opens fine. — https://bugs.freedesktop.org/show_bug.cgi?id=59916#c7 So, a temporary fix would be to set the UI to English (USA). There are screenshots attached to the bug that show where this is set.

Problem with 4.0.0.2 confirmed on ~amd64, but 4.0.0.1 OK. Both with LINGUAS="en_GB".

Problem with 4.0.0.2 confirmed on ~amd64 with LANG=de_DE.UTF-8 (German). Interestingly I can confirm that setting the UI to English (USA) fixes the problem - the locale setting ("Gebietsschema" in German) can remain German. I had suspected some problem with the separator settings but this doesn't seem to be the case...
So Eike figured what the problem is. Seems like new libo hates when we use different translation versions compared to source code. So we have to keep equality between l10n and libo. This will sadly also mean that people with git versions will be unable to use translations. I will look to fixing it in next days, for now use english locale as workaround.

Using app-office/libreoffice-l10n-4.0.0.2 with app-office/libreoffice-4.0.0.2 fixes the problem here. Thank you.

I also updated deps in the lo ebuild to enforce same PV for l10n and the source. This also means that on live ebuilds translations won't be provided. I think this solution is better than to compile the languages in the ebuild as it takes another 30 minutes when you build with languages enabled.
