I've released a new version based on the feedback in bug #447776.

* The test users are now bin/daemon which should be somewhat portable. I also tried to make this easy to sed if it causes problems on a particular arch.
* There's a separate exit code (2) when the tests fail due to missing system users.
* The tests are integrated with autotools, so you don't need to do anything to enable them. FEATURES=test should run them.
* There's a man page. Also handled by autotools.
* There's a new option (--no-exec-mask) and a couple of bugfixes.

All in all you should be able to just rename the ebuild.
