Same for me (mm-sources-2.6.5_rc1-r1 and nvidia-1.0.5336-r1)
What about the new 2.6.5 release? Does this happen when switching between terminals from X to CLI and back?
Please test nvidia-kernel-5336-r3 (preferably with 2.6.6 kernel, but not essential) and report back please.
http://dev.gentoo.org/~cyfred/nvidia-kernel-1.0.5336-r3.tar.bz2 Please try the ebuild in here if you are still experiencing lockups.
sorry, i have had a lot of problems and i can not test new nvidia-dirver today i installed new kernel mm-sources-r5 and i installed nvidia-kernel-5336-r3 and all run very good thanks to Andrew Bewitt
