Ruby Enterprise Edition should be removed. The current versions have minor security issues, the latest versions are masked and don't work, and upstream announced end-of-life almost a year ago. Ruby 1.9 has almost all of the benefits of REE, so the recommendation is to switch to that if you are still using REE. Things to do now: - mask package itself - mask RUBY_TARGETS USE flag - add deprecation message to ruby-ng asking for removal Things to do upon removal: - remove package, package mask, and USE flag masks
The package and USE flags are now masked.
When removing the package we should also remove all the associated virtuals.
