Third line of code:
# nano -w /etc/X11/XF86Config
is either redundant or is missing the required edit.

The next line:
# modprobe nvidia
completes normally

Reproducible: Always
Steps to Reproduce:
1.after editing /etc/X11/XF86Config to Code Listing 2.14
2.startx
3.

Actual Results:  
(EE) Failed to load module "nvidia" (module does not exist, 0) 
(EE) No drivers available. 
 
Fatal server error: 
no screens found 

Expected Results:  
X should have brought up some bash screens 

changing back to the Driver "nv" brings up the expected bash screens.
