unofficial dotnet repository should be named 'dotnet' for layman description: newer mono, .NET languages and libraries <homepage>https://github.com/gentoo-dotnet</homepage> <owner type="user"> <email>heather@cynede.net</email> <name>Heather</name> </owner> <source type="git">git://github.com/gentoo-dotnet/gentoo-dotnet.git</source> <source type="git">https://github.com/gentoo-dotnet/gentoo-dotnet.git</source> <source type="git">git@github.com:gentoo-dotnet/gentoo-dotnet.git</source> <feed>https://github.com/gentoo-dotnet/gentoo-dotnet/commits/master.atom</feed> Reproducible: Always
I've changed layman. I'm keeping this bug open for someone to add write access to the dotnet overlay at Gentoo git for Heather. Please.
I'm confused now. Do you want us to add https://github.com/gentoo-dotnet to layman or to give write access to git.overlays.gentoo.org/proj/dotnet? (or both?)
both

granted access to proj/dotnet
(In reply to comment #3) > both Why do you want to have two overlays for mono stuff? What will be difference between them?
At least on IRC Heather told me he prefers github, so I changed the uri to there and changed from official to unofficial. Should we have both overlays there now? I'm confused, was told differently. Write access was supposed to be for moving things over to the github overlay and cleaning old cruft. Or do you now want to do it otherway around?
(In reply to comment #6) > (In reply to comment #3) > > both > > Why do you want to have two overlays for mono stuff? What will be difference > between them? Actually I don't need two overlays at all. Gentoo needs it. All I want is to help you make things better. Gentoo git repository is not in layman now and it's not my overlay. But it's official project overlay and in this way it's different to GitHub overlay though. It could be useful for Gentoo Developers (dotnet herd is not empty) to work together in overlay on experimental stuff before push the changes to tree and I'm there to help them and maybe to bring some ideas from my unofficial overlay. About the future and for what that could need: I understand that for now developers don't use it but maybe one day there will be some developer who will up it again. Situation when developers will join github organizations is also possible.
I guess we are done here then (not me, angelos or pacho use the official dotnet overlay and it is seriously outdated and should not be listed in layman in it's current form)
