Description Don Komarechka 2004-03-19 08:49:32 UTC
while first trying to emerge kdabase, I encountered this bug, then I tried just to emerge xfree and saw it again. Here is the file it told me to include in my bug report: http://www.gbadvanzed.com/patchfailure.txt. I'm currently using kernel 2.6.4 on a Pentium Pro 200mhz.

Reproducible: Always
Steps to Reproduce:
1. emerge xfree
2.
3.

Actual Results:
the page http://www.gbadvanzed.com/problem.txt details the results of the emerge.

this is the file it told me to include in a bug report after it had happened. I
hope it can be of some use.

cat /var/db/pkg/x11-base/xfree-[0-9]*/CFLAGS
Comment 3 Donnie Berkholz (RETIRED) gentoo-dev 2004-03-20 00:24:13 UTC
also cat /var/db/pkg/sys-devel/patch-[0-9]*/CFLAGS please
Comment 4 Don Komarechka 2004-03-20 21:31:25 UTC
CFLAGS: -march=pentiumpro -O2 -O2 -O2 -O2 -O2 -O2 -O2 -O2 -pipe

no idea why it has -O2 to many times.... might be part of the problem? no idea..
Comment 5 Don Komarechka 2004-03-20 21:32:31 UTC
and for the second request:

-03 -funroll-loops -ffast-math -malign-double -mcpu=pentiumpro -march=pentiumpro -fomit-frame-pointer -fno-exceptions -DLINUX -D_XOPEN_SOURCE=500
Comment 6 Donnie Berkholz (RETIRED) gentoo-dev 2004-03-20 22:48:41 UTC
OK, you really need to tone down your CFLAGS on sys-devel/patch, remerge it and try again.
