New version of valgrind available.  It claims to have fixes for new glibc etc.  I hope it fixes the present compile issues for NTPL systems!

valgrind 2.1.1 ebuild

according to some forum post valgrind 2.1.1 seems to fix NTPL issues and it
also fixed some other issues I experienced myself with valgrind 2.1.0

attached is my try of a valgrind 2.1.1 ebuild that works fine for me
