Description Hal Eisen 2004-03-17 11:15:09 UTC
After installing Evolution 1.4.5 using "emerge evolution", evolution won't run. When I go to http://support.ximian.com/cgi-bin/ximian.cfg/php/enduser/std_adp.php?p_faqid=54 it says to look for some binaries, including "evolution-mail". Sure enough, I can't find that executable on my system.

Reproducible: Always
Steps to Reproduce:
1.
2.
3.

Actual Results:
Cannot initialize the Evolution shell

Comment 1 Alastair Tse (RETIRED) gentoo-dev 2004-03-17 15:05:42 UTC
so what files did evolution install?

can you do:

emerge evolution 2>&1 | tee /tmp/evolution.log

and then attach it

Comment 3 Hal Eisen 2004-03-18 18:14:56 UTC
Hrm. The most recent "emerge" caused things to spontaneously start working. I think the above Ximian help page is out of date, too.

well, can't reproduce this at all. probably a transient thing. please reopen if it happens to you again.
