ibiblio appears to be throttling individual rsync streams to 512kbps, which is not a big deal most of the time, but in the instance of a large update (E.G. 2004.0), it causes a lot of problems for the download mirrors, or at least mine. The issue is that updating the releases in particular causes multiple rsync instances to spawn via cron every 4 hours when only a small portion of the sync is complete. The different processes try to update the same file causing a lot of CPU and bandwidth spikes but never actually completing an update. Any suggestions on this? For now I'm having to stop the cron and manually update until I get the /releases dir, then I can start cron again, but this is the second time in the past couple months I've run into this issue. For official mirrors, we have two private rsync mirrors which are not throttled. If you'd like to use either of these mirrors, please send an email to mirror-admin@gentoo.org and be sure to reference your mirror name. Thanks.
Forgot to close this. Took it up with the mirror admin.
