Upon running emerge --pretend --update system this morning, I find there are five packages requiring update. Today is a good day to see what changes are in store before I just install them on general principles. One of the packages being updated is Portage, to version 2.0.9. I go to /usr/portage/sys-apps/portage/ChangeLog, to see what's up with Portage. Mmmm. The most recent entry in the ChangeLog is for version 1.9.13-r1. ChangeLog entries are actually important to me in terms of evaluating whether or not to apply specific updates, when I am being conscientious. Thanks, .brian
