I'm using git version 1.8.0.2
Next question, what is your version of sys-devel/patch ?
(In reply to comment #4) > Next question, what is your version of sys-devel/patch ? sys-devel/patch-2.7.1-r1 USE="-static {-test} -xattr"
(In reply to comment #2) The patch is addad later on. In the ebuild that I used (december 20th) there is no patch. On this pc ksplash is emerged without problems, but on my laptop I have the same errors. So what I will do is remove the patch from the ebuild and see if that works :-)
(In reply to comment #6) > So what I will do is remove the patch from the ebuild and see if that works Yes, that works.
sure, removing the patch lets ksplash compile - but not install because of file collision(s) with kde-base/kde-base-artwork and thus ksplash will not be merged.
(In reply to comment #6) > In the ebuild that I used (december 20th) there is no patch. added on 22th dec, see http://git.overlays.gentoo.org/gitweb/?p=proj/kde.git;a=commit;h=a3ab34cf5fc498198550f184773d45c1b49f09fd

(In reply to comment #10) ebuild has changed, patch works now, problem solved :-)
Thanks for testing everyone. For the record, here is the commit that fixed: http://git.overlays.gentoo.org/gitweb/?p=proj/kde.git;a=commitdiff;h=d28d3f29648203738e716930c1e920b6e1d60c41
